Major Weather Events Expected In Northern California

October 22, 2021 by Eric Preston

A series of Pacific storms are expected to hit Northern California this weekend, potentially peaking with a classic atmospheric river pattern. Weather services are predicting a level 5 atmospheric river event to hit the region on October 24th or 25th, possibly dropping as much as 8 to 12 inches of rain in parts of Northern California and adding another 1 to 3 feet of snow to the high Sierra.

While California’s drought conditions can benefit from rain, this expected level of precipitation has not been seen in almost a year. It can cause significant problems to many areas, leading to flash floods and dangerous debris flows in a wide swath of the region already devastated by recent wildfires.

AP Keenan would like to remind our clients of the need to take proactive steps now to avoid major losses to facilities and resources related to flash flooding, high winds, and water damage. Please see the following links for best practices and prevention tips.
