This time of year is all about giving thanks and giving back. At Keenan, our Associates find ways to make serving our communities a year-round mission. While the service itself is richly rewarding, hearing from the organizations served about the difference it makes is truly gratifying. This Thanksgiving, I wanted to share with all of you some of the feedback we’ve received, and hope it inspires you to connect with the organizations that we helped this past year.

Fred Finch Youth Center “Thank you for your generous donation of hospitality bags and backpacks.  We would like for you to personally thank and give our gratitude to Debbie, Leigh and Cesar for leading the assembly of your generous donation.” – Tara DeRosa, Development Director

The Panetta Institute “Thank you very much for the generous donation of children’s books for the Monterey County Reads program. The success of this vital literacy effort is a result of the generosity and support of friends of the Institute.”  – Sylvia M. Panetta, Co-Chair and CEO

Cheer for Children“There are no words invented to thank you all enough for the 160 filled backpacks and $500 in gift cards for our back-to-school project. So many people would love to thank you in person and give you a hug!  So here is a BIG HUG from all of the children you helped.” – Kathryn Hensen, President

blog_gratitude2For the Child“Thank you to all the Keenan employees who participated with willingness and enthusiasm to fill 100 backpacks with school supplies and hand make 150 good-night kits.  These children will carry you to school in their backpacks this fall and hug you tight at night!” – Michele Winterstein, PhD, Executive Director

Riverside Area Rape Crisis Center –  “It is impossible to express how much we appreciate the Survivor Bags and Comfort Kits. This will make a positive difference in the lives of so many more people than you can imagine.” – Larry McAdara, Executive Director

Children’s Institute, Inc. – “Wow!  Isn’t it amazing what a motivated group of people can do in just a day!!  I cannot express how much we all appreciated this wonderful work by cheerful, hard-working volunteers!” – Barbara Barnes, Director of Volunteer Services

Angels’ Closet Charities“For us, the opportunity to provide the kids with backpacks filled with school supplies, new underwear, new socks, and toiletries is such a joy.  I wish you could see their faces.” – Patricia Williams, President/Founder

The needs in our communities are year-round and we encourage you to make service part of your Thanksgiving celebration.  All of us at Keenan wish you a safe and enjoyable holiday!
