We all know the Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires non-grandfathered group health plans to cover an array of preventive services without cost-sharing (i.e., copayments, deductibles and coinsurance). But for many participants in those group health plans, it’s not always clear what counts as a preventive service. Many rely on their providers to figure it out and bill appropriately. As a result, some participants may pay more than necessary or not even seek certain services because they didn’t realize they’re a covered preventive service. To help us all keep things straight, the Kaiser Family Foundation has issued a fact sheet that includes a nice summary chart of preventive services for adults.
