GASB 43/45: Before You Get Too Comfortable

Understanding GASB 43 & 45 compliance is one of the critical needs agencies have, in order to remain fiscally responsible. This presentation takes stock of where GASB 43 & 45 compliance is and provides a preview to two upcoming developments: a rewrite of GASB 43/45 that will probably first take effect in 2016-17; and potential changes to Actuarial Standards of Practice (ASOP) — both of which could dramatically increase liabilities for some agencies. Find out what you can do to prepare and avoid big costs down the road.
