Covered California Removes an Insurer

Alameda Alliance for Health (Alameda) was removed from the list of plans being offered by Covered California. The state’s health insurance exchange was forced to remove Alameda Alliance because the plan was not able to obtain a timely material modification of its license to allow it to engage in commercial insurance sales. Individuals who have applied to join Alameda Alliance plans will have to choose an alternate plan from among the remaining Covered California health plan providers.

Covered California is the state health insurance exchange for California. Covered California provides a centralized marketplace where uninsured Californians can purchase health insurance coverage.
