California Property & Casualty Legislative Summary 2019 End of Session

The 2019 legislative session ended with Governor Gavin Newsom’s signature on some 870 new laws, and 172 vetoes. This Briefing summarizes the enacted legislation that impacts public agency and medical providers’ workers’ compensation, as well as property and liability insurance. It also notes the bills that were vetoed this year. Unless otherwise noted, all bills signed will go into effect on January 1, 2020. The legislature reconvenes for the 2020 legislative session on January 6, 2020.
