Online Training Platforms Help Customers Maintain Training During Pandemic

June 16, 2020

Nearing the milestone of 8 million course completions, Keenan’s online training platforms – SafeSchools (KSP), SafeColleges (KSC) and SafePersonnel (KSP) – continue to support customers in meeting their training objectives during the coronavirus pandemic. During March, April and May, 545,008 additional courses were completed by educators, public agency and healthcare employees!

Many of our clients have taken advantage of the remote working environment to catch up on their training, including compliance with regulatorily required training, child abuse awareness and sexual harassment prevention requirements. While your employees are able to easily access the courses from wherever they are working, the platform maintains the record your organization needs to document these course completions.

In addition, we have received a lot of positive feedback on our Working Remotely microlearning series, a resource to help in adjusting to these unique times. These short, two- to five-minute videos give you practical tips for staying productive and working safely in your home workspace. We add additional segments to this series frequently, so be sure to subscribe to notifications for the latest updates.

Our latest releases for online training are a series of seven courses on COVID-19. These courses provide an overview of the coronavirus risk factors, how to recognize the symptoms and stop the spread, where to find reliable information with the latest updates, as well as practical preparations for protection and coping with the situation:

  • Coronavirus Awareness
  • Coronavirus: CDC Guidelines for Making & Using Cloth Face Coverings
  • Coronavirus: Cleaning and Disinfecting Your Workplace
  • Coronavirus: Managing Stress and Anxiety
  • Coronavirus: Preparing Your Household
  • Coronavirus: Transitioning to a Remote Workplace
  • Coronavirus: Reopening your Organization

As consideration is given to reopening and transitioning employees from what may have been a more sedentary, remote working environment than employees were accustomed to in their regular work setting, we will soon be releasing a new online training series of five short courses for “Injury Prevention through Physical Conditioning.” These courses were designed by medical professionals to help employees strengthen their upper and lower bodies, backs, abdominals and overall wellness. This series is designed to help employees condition their bodies to prevent injuries when returning to work.

For our school clients, we commend their use of our online training platform to continue their initiative of keeping kids safe. Since California began the Stay at Home orders, schools have completed a record-breaking 200,000 courses through our Microlearning: Child Abuse Prevention series. An additional 75,000 courses were completed focusing on the needs of our Special Education students through our Exceptional Child training library. By the end of June, we will be releasing our newest Mandated Reporter course that fulfills the requirement to train within the first six weeks of the new school year. This newest course includes an overview of recent legal changes.

All of our courses can be easily accessed through KSS, KSC and KSP. Our COVID-19 courses, as well as all the courses on the School Safety Center are provided free of charge to all California schools, whether or not they are currently Keenan clients. Please follow the Access Training link from the course listing page to get to these courses.

Our service teams continue to work hard to support KSS, KSC and KSP platforms during this challenging time. Our Account Managers are available daily to assist and coordinate access to these courses for you and your employees.

We are gratified that so many of our school, community college, public agency and healthcare colleagues have been able to benefit from the opportunity to train through our online platforms. With all of the changes and disruption we are encountering because of COVID-19, training objectives and compliance can be one less thing to worry about.
