Keenan Online Training for Schools Surpasses 7 Million Course Completions with Significant Recent Jump in Participation Amid COVID-19 Challenges

TORRANCE, Calif. – July 14, 2020 – Keenan, an industry-leading California insurance brokerage and consulting firm for health care organizations and public agencies, has reported a significant milestone in utilization of its Keenan SafeSchools, Keenan SafeColleges and Keenan SafePersonnel online training platforms.

Hitting 7 million total course completions, the rise in participation included substantial increases for the months of March, April and May over the same period last year as well as over the three months prior. Courses on the Keenan School Safety Center are provided free of charge to all California schools, whether or not they are currently Keenan clients.

The data show a jump in completions of 305% over the prior three months and 448% over the same three-month period in 2019. Contributing to the increase have been sexual abuse and molestation microlearning opportunities along with exceptional child training. Also popular have been modules on safety and productivity when working remotely from home.

In addition, overall patterns of utilization appear similar to those typically seen over the summer and in September in prior years. This trend would indicate that, in the current environment, much of the training in preparation for the next school year is being addressed early in order to be ready for adjustments as to when (and if) schools reopen for the fall semester.

Keenan reports that many of its clients have taken advantage of the remote working environment to catch up on training, including compliance with mandatory reporter, child abuse awareness and sexual harassment requirements. Key features of the training platform include easy online access to the courses from anywhere as well as documentation of course completions for the organization.
