TORRANCE, Calif. – August 30, 2017 – Keenan, an industry-leading California insurance brokerage and consulting firm for health care organizations and public agencies, conducted its fifth annual Impact Day community service project on Aug. 21 and 22, 2017, in Lakewood, Calif., and Aug. 24, 2017, in San Ramon, with projects benefiting three non-profits serving children.

Each year, Keenan partners with local and national community organizations to give back to Northern and Southern California communities. With the motto, “What you do makes a difference,” more than 700 Keenan associates rolled up their sleeves to create positive change for those who need it most.
This year’s non-profits and associated projects included:
Habitat for Humanity. Painting and assembling five children’s playhouses that will be donated to families receiving new homes as well as to local children’s organizations.
Feeding Children Everywhere. Packaging 200,000 healthy meal packets for children in the surrounding communities as part of the organization’s efforts to combat global hunger as well as for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
Happy Hats for Kids. Decorating 600 felt hats to uplift the spirits and ease the fears of hospitalized children fighting cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
“This event is enormous. We are so grateful for Keenan to be in our city giving back to the communities in which they serve,” said Diane DuBois, Mayor of the City of Lakewood.
In addition to Impact Day, Keenan extends its corporate social responsibility outreach throughout the year at conferences and trade shows by encouraging attendees who visit its booth to participate in service projects. The company also offers employees two paid days each year to volunteer for organizations of their choice.
