In looking at the high cost of injuries for Community College districts over the last three years, there may be some surprises in which injury is at the top of the list. It is Slips, Trips and Falls.

Although it is no surprise that “Ergonomic” injuries and strains by lifting, pushing and pulling are extremely prevalent and incur high dollar costs, the somewhat less obvious S, T & F (as referred to in Loss Control) has risen to be one of the most documented injuries for Community Colleges.

To assist our many districts, Keenan Loss Control has developed training programs focused on the reduction of these injuries. Although this training is presented as part of our PIPS programs, it also can be provided to any of our Colleges on a contractual basis.

We believe that directing the attention of your District employees to this type of injury, and how to help prevent them, can be effective in your Workers’ Compensation cost reduction. Now is a good time to contact your Keenan Loss Control Consultant to schedule this training before it “Slips” your mind – you may even be able to see these injury costs “Fall!”
